ILLEGAL DRUGS/NARCOTICS SMUGGLING TO USA OK’D BY CANADA
NORTHERN U.S. BORDER AT RISK! BORDER AGENTS IN CANADA TOLD: STOP LOOKING FOR NARCOTICS EXPORTED INTO AMERICA
At the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario (above) and all along the American-Canadian border, border agents in Canada were told in a June, 2012 internal memo from the federal government that, because of a lack of resources, to stop looking for illegal drugs (narcotics) leaving Canada for the USA.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is to focus instead on the exports of illicit nuclear materials, stolen cars, and the smuggling of endangered species, hazardous and electronic wastes.
If it happens to detect narcotics the CBSA will intercept, seize, and arrest the smugglers.
CBSA seized 10,000 shipments of illegal 趣味冲关 drugs worth $1.6 billion in 2011.
About 53 CBSA staff target and exam 10,000 export shipments per day. The Canada plans to slash 1,300 jobs and $143 million from its CBSA budget over the next three years.
